Language programming from SCOLA TV Internet videostream now available for use with Sony Digital Language Labs from SANS Inc.

SANS Inc., the exclusive licensor of Sony digital language learning software, will begin supporting SCOLA audio and video files in lesson authoring tools in the Sony Soloist?ยต Software suite. SANS sales representatives and resellers will offer access to the SCOLA Videostream Service to schools seeking downloadable audio and video for embedding in simple tutorials and more complex coursework using the Sony Soloist application. In addition, all current Sony Soloist users are eligible for a complimentary 90-day subscription to the SCOLA Videostream Service.

Representatives from SCOLA TV and SANS Inc. will be participating in ACTFL 2004, the annual conference of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages being held in Chicago on November 18-20. SANS will demonstrate authentic internet-based audio and video programming from SCOLA TV and lessons authored using the Sony Soloist Software suite.


SCOLA programming is available to K-12 schools, colleges and universities for educational use. Schools which affiliate with SCOLA and subscribe to SCOLA Videostream Service enjoy limited licensing rights to SCOLA audio and video, including viewing, downloading, archiving, replaying, and embedding in coursework and courseware.


SCOLA is a non-profit broadcasting company which offers four channels of authentic language programming from 80 countries. SCOLA programming is carried on the private cable systems of 200 colleges and universities, and to 1,200 K-12 schools through 60 participating service areas of the Adelphia, Cox, Comcast, Time-Warner, and other commercial cable systems in North America.
